Application Note
Purification of long and aggregating peptides with catch-and-release purification
Linear SPPS of long peptides can result in extraordinarily complex and difficult-to-purify mixtures using liquid chromatography. Additionally, peptides with hydrophobic or aggregating properties hardly dissolve in media compatible with this purification method. The PurePep® EasyClean (PEC) purification technology can overcome these hurdles due to the high flexibility of solvents for dissolution, as shown here by the purification of exceptionally long PTH (1-84) and hydrophobic, strongly aggregating CMV (81-95) peptide.
What you will learn about
- purification of exceptionally long peptides (>50 AAs) in a single step
- isolation of peptides from complex mixtures to widen the scope of linear SPPS
- overcoming limitations for the manufacturing of hydrophobic or aggregating peptides
