About the job

Our mission is to develop “best in class” automated bioanalytical instruments to support the Life Sciences area in developing and producing biopharmaceutical therapies for the needs of patients worldwide.

The role of a Software Engineer at R&D Software, within the Biopharmaceutical Development Division, is to strengthen the Software team in developing software solutions to support the analytical needs of our customers, from setting-up and running analysis on the instruments, to analyzing and exporting data to LIMS or other reporting systems.

You will work in a team who takes advantage of agile development, in a fun and rewarding way. We are always trying to improve and grow together as a team. In this friendly and stimulating environment, we develop and create the “best in class” bioanalytical solutions for our customers. This role is also an opportunity to work cross functionally in projects with skilled people of other disciplines like, electronics, mechanics, embedded SW and more.

Most of the time is spent on SW development, implementing functionality according to specifications. However, you will also be supporting customers in finding a solution to their problems and addressing product care issues on defects identified on released SW.   • Stay updated on all relevant procedures linked to the role.
  • Analyse new functionality and suggest implementation strategies and time plans.
  • Write and maintain design descriptions.
  • Implement new and maintain existing source code.
  • Planning of daily work in line with development activities
  • Support Sales with troubleshooting.
  • Maintain bug tracking systems.
  • Maintain source code within revision and version tool.
  • Maintain Functional Requirement Specifications and Test Requirements Specifications. This is done together with Product Management/System engineers with input from Customers and internal feedback.
  • Suggest improvements to both the functionality and architecture of software as well as on our tools and procedures.

Education Skills, Experience & Personal profile

  • Academic or technical education corresponding to M.Sc. level in Computer Science, Engineering Physics or similar
  • Some years of experience of product development in a software engineering role, preferably within the life science area
  • Experience of working with Visual Studio C++ and C#
  • Experience of working with Java
  • Experience of implementing code for accessing Oracle databases is a plus
  • Knowledge about Computer System Validation and GAMP5 and regulatory requirements linked to our customers (21 CFR part 11) is a plus
  • Knowledge about Agile work processes.
  • Knowledge about development tools used in software development (Gyros main tools are DevOps, Git, Mantis, Jenkins, Spira and different tools for unit testing and test automation)
  • English: written and spoken
  • Swedish: written and spoken
  • Strong tendency to steadily improve by problem-solving to root-cause, experimenting and taking action
