European Sales Specialist - Peptide Synthesizers

The company combines our expertise in the Gyrolab® nanoliter-scale immunoassay platform with that in peptide synthesis – over three decades of instrument manufacturing knowhow and scientific knowledge in peptide synthesis.

 

 

THE POSITION

 

The European Sales Specialist for the peptide synthesis portfolio will be our face and contact towards our existing and potential customers. The focus for this position is account- and relationship development for our capital equipment and consumables business. Our prime customers are within Biopharma, Contract Manufacturing Organisations and Academia.

 

You will be part of the European sales team and your reporting manager will be based in France. The position covers Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and Scandinavia. We therefore envisage that you can be based in Germany as this is a homebased position. You will have the support of a Senior Product Specialist, as well as service engineers, to ensure our customers satisfaction.

 

In this position you have the chance of being part of a knowledge driven and global organisation, where the organisation allows you to contribute with your knowledge and experiences to develop our products and services.

 

The work activities include travel, customer visits and attending trade shows but due to Covid 19 and the current situation the work will be adapted to comply with the restrictions. In relation to this, your suggestions, ideas and inspiration on how the work will be conducted in the future will be of interest. Before Covid, the position had an average of three about days travel/week.

 

The position includes the following responsibilities and activities:

  • Develop strategies and execute the plans to achieve annual sales and revenue target
  • Manage existing customer relationships and secure repeat business
  • Identify new opportunities and customers to build a solid sales pipeline. This will involve contacting new clients and attending forums/trade shows/digital meetings etc.
  • Positioning the products through effective presentations, negotiations and communications that lead to developing and maintaining profitable long term customer relationships
  • Provide sales forecast information
  • Create relevant, informative and attractive presentations for customer meetings
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Contribute to marketing and application development activities
  • Other tasks as assigned by Senior Management

 

EDUCATION

  • Sc or higher education in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field.
  • A degree in a different field and relevant work experience can also be of interest

 

EXPERIENCE

  • B2B sales experience within the field of Biopharma or similar, minimum of 3 years of sales
  • Sales experience towards academia
  • Documented records of achieving sales targets
  • Experience of creating presentations for customers
  • Experience of, and ability to, communicate with customers and internal sales teams regarding complex products and information
  • A plus if you have experience of peptide or organic synthesis
  • A plus if you have experience of capital equipment sales

 

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • An interest in technical products and keen to learn about new products
  • Excellent social skills and used to build customer relationships and sales situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Well organized and the ability to structure your work
  • Self-motivated and the ability to plan and effectively structure your time and work
  • You are a team player and have interest in contributing to long term business relationships
